We had a slower day today. We went separate ways in the morning. Amy went to Kensington Palace, former home of royals such as Queen Victoria and Princess Diana. I went back to the V&A to do some library research. Amy met me there and we had savory crepes for lunch at a place near the museum. We then went to the nearby science museum to see their exhibit on mathematics and computing. It was very well done with some interesting old equipment. They also have a nice exhibit about Alan Turing, one of the fathers of modern computer science. Charles Babbage, an English mathematician and early computer pioneer, was also heavily featured. His brain was donated following his death and was partially dissected with the remainder on display for all to see. There was also a very nice collection of polyhedra. Amy mainly knitted while I looked at the exhibit.
We then went to the Tate Britain to see its collections. One room had a large number of African style masks and statues with themes taken from McDonald's. Quite amusing.
Our train to Scotland departs tomorrow at 7:00 am from the King's Cross station. We had purchased tickets online before we left home so all we had to do is pick them up. We thought it was better to take care of all that today since we need to be there so early. It is about 30 minutes from our hotel and we plan on being there at 6:30.
We had dinner at a nearby Italian restaurant and then stopped at the store for drinks and snacks. We watched a little TV and now it is off to bed. It has been in the high 80's here, so we are very much looking forward to cooler northern weather.
